KC Rebell (born January 26, 1988 in Pazarcık , Turkey ; real name Hüseyin Kökseçen ) is a German rapper of Kurdish descent.

biography

KC Rebell grew up in Essen as the son of Kurdish parents from Turkey . At the beginning of 2006, KC Rebell and PA Sports founded the duo SAW (black on white) and released a mixtape . They toured in 2007 with Snaga & Pillath by Germany . In May 2009 the two released their album Kinder des Zorns on Shrazy Records . The collaboration between SAW and the Shrazy Records label did not go as expected in retrospect, so they left the label after five months.

In late 2009, KC Rebell released the video single Grausam with PA Sports and Manuellsen . At that time he was under contract with Pottweiler Entertainment until he decided to devote himself to his solo career and in April 2011 moved to the record label of PA Sports Life Is Pain .

On May 27, 2011, the debut album Derdo Derdo ( Kurdish : "Problems, Problems" or "Soul Pain") was released by KC Rebell. In 2012 the album Rebellismus was released on the Wolfpack Entertainment label , with which he entered the German album charts for the first time.

On March 14, 2013 it was announced that KC Rebell is under contract with the label Banger Musik . A short time later he released the album Banger Rebel . From May 4, 2014 to May 22, 2014 he was on a tour of the label with Summer Cem , Majoe & Jasko and label boss Farid Bang .

On May 30, 2014, Rebellution, his second album for banger music, came out. The album reached number 1 in the German album charts and was the second number one album for the label after Farid Bang's album Killa .

From April 12, 2015 to April 22, 2015 he was on tour with Farid Bang on his new album Asphalt Massaka 3 .

On June 12, 2015 the album Fata Morgana was released , from which five music videos were released: Fata Morgana (featuring Xavier Naidoo ), Alles & Nothing , Moment (featuring Summer Cem ), Kanax in Tokyo (featuring Farid Bang ) and Bist du real ( featuring Moé).

On August 19, 2016, after months of teasing, KC Rebell released its disstrack Dizz da versus Xatar . At the same time, he announced his album Distance, which will be released on November 25, 2016 . KC Rebell took the video for Disstrack Dizz da offline from YouTube on February 17, 2017 after the end of the beef with Xatar.

On June 16, 2017, the collaboration album Maximum was released with Summer Cem , which reached number 1 in the German charts.

On July 19, 2018 it was announced by the rapper PA Sports as part of his disrack "Guilty 400", as well as by KC Rebell himself later that he had left his previous label Banger Musik after his contract expired. Instead, KC Rebell founded his own label called Rebell Army , whose distribution is taken over by Universal Music with the label arm Vertigo Berlin . On April 19, 2019, the album Hasso , which the rapper dedicated to his late father, was released as the first independent release by Rebell Army.

KC Rebell currently lives in Stuttgart with his wife and child .

Controversy with Xatar

KC Rebell got into an argument with rapper Xatar in mid-2016 after Xatar claimed that KC Rebell had wanted to join his label, Alles oder Nix Records , a year earlier . KC Rebell denied this statement and the two rappers exchanged verbal hits on the Internet.

On August 15, 2016, a friend of KC Rebells was attacked by several men in the Belgian Quarter in Cologne and was finally able to escape into his vehicle after several knife wounds and skull, cheekbones and jaw fractures. Shots should also have been fired. Xatar was seen by witnesses near the crime scene.

On August 19, 2016, KC Rebell released its disstrack Dizz da versus Xatar . The title of the track is an allusion to Xatar's statement "Iz da" (Is there). In the track, KC Rebell raps about the events that should have happened between the two rappers. He also insulted Xatar and discussed the rapper's private life. However, KC Rebell did not address the stabbing and shooting.

On August 22, 2016, it was finally announced that the Cologne District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Xatar, as well as against his two business partners involved in the bar, in front of whom the violent attack took place. They were accused of involvement in attempted manslaughter or suspected attempted manslaughter or dangerous bodily harm. Two of the three wanted surrendered to the police in Cologne on August 22nd. Xatar turned himself in to the police there on August 23, 2016. He remained at large on bail and reporting requirements. According to the investigation, Xatar was not directly involved in the crime, but is still under investigation on suspicion of involvement in attempted manslaughter.

On February 16, 2017, Xatar announced via Facebook that he would not respond to the disstrack and instead insisted on a peaceful solution to the dispute, adding that he apologized for the previous verbal attacks against KC Rebell. The following day, KC Rebell commented on this statement and also ended the beef on his part and accordingly removed the Disstrack Dizz da from YouTube.
