Wolfpack Entertainment is a German record label owned by rapper D-Bo that was founded in 2008. The label's publications can mainly be assigned to the hip-hop genre . In addition, some albums use the styles of pop music , dubstep , alternative rap and electro .

history

Wolfpack Entertainment was founded on January 1st, 2008 by Danny Bokelmann. The idea for the platform came up in 1998. Bokelmann, who also works as a rapper under the name D-Bo, founded the music label ersguterjunge together with Bushido in 2004 and worked there until 2008. Bokelmann was able to win Soulfood as a sales partner for Wolfpack Entertainment and Kontor New Media for digital sales. Wolfpack Entertainment mainly makes use of so-called tape takeover agreements. For example, contracts for albums by Jalil , Marc Reis , PA Sports , KC Rebell and Bizzy Montana have been signed.

The label's first release was the mixtape therapy before the album by hip-hop musician RAF Camora . With the D-Bo album The Lie of Freedom , the label reached 89th place, the first chart position in Germany. Due to the releases of the Austrian rappers Nazar and Chakuza , some albums also entered the charts in Austria. The label's most successful album to date is Nero von Vega , which reached position 2 in the German charts in early 2013.

In July 2012, Wolfpack Entertainment entered into a label deal with Vegas platform Friends of Nobody . Hadi El-Dor appears as managing director of the sub-label. In addition to Vega, the rappers Bizzy Montana, Timeless and Bosca as well as the producers Johnny Pepp, Cristalbeats and Jumpa-Beatz are supposed to publish their albums through Friends of Nobody . The label had already signed a publishing contract with EMI Music Publishing in March 2012 . On August 31st, the sublabel's first release was released with the sampler Welcome to No Man's Land .

With Indipendenza , another sub-label was founded in 2013 under the management of RAF 3.0. Joshi Mizu was the first artist to be signed to the independent label. His album Zu! Gabe was Indipendenza's first release in early March 2013 .

In May 2013 the rapper Liquit Walker signed an artist contract with Wolfpack Entertainment . He had previously been under contract with Friends of Nobody and released his album Unter Wölfen there .

In August 2014 the Austrian rapper Nazar released his album "Camouflage" with Wolfpack Entertainment, which stayed at number 2 in the German charts for three weeks.

MacherMusik was founded in 2014 as another sub-label, under the direction of the German hip-hop artist Blut & Kassel. His album "100 Percent Macher", which was produced together with the rapper Pedaz, was the sub-label's first release in August.

The artist Pilz from Hamburg founded the sub-label KOPFKINO together with Wolfpack Entertainment in 2015 and then released her debut album “Beef” in June.

Damion Davis released his album "Forever Ying" in 2016 via NewDEF, which sees itself as a sub-label of Wolfpack Entertainment. Together with Bizzy Montana, Chakuza released the collab album Blackout 2 in April 2017, which was Chakuza's second release on Wolfpack Entertainment. Shortly afterwards, the two rappers released the joint "Summer Depression EP". In the same year the artist Eazy released his album "Black Tape".

In 2018, the Berlin rapper Garma Kang released several singles through Wolfpack Entertainment. Antifuchs also released her debut album "Stola". After its publication, Antifuchs published several singles between 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, Chakuza brought out a new part of his album series with "Search & Destroy 3". In 2018 the R&B singer Niqo Nuevo signed a management contract with Wolfpack Entertainment and released his first album "Eastside Junge" in April 2019. Wolfpack Entertainment has also taken on various management activities for artists such as Laidback Leo and MVRVIN since 2019.
