Omik K. (real name Gilberto Ruben Guillen Hernandez ; born August 7, 1989 in Ciego de Ávila Morón , Cuba ) is a German rapper from Leipzig . Omik K is known for his aggressive, roaring rap style.
Life
Omik K. came to Germany at the age of seven and grew up in Leipzig. After he was active in the Leipzig underground scene, rappers like Joe Rilla and Morlockk Dilemma noticed him and worked with him on his first album 13 Years Germany , which was released in 2008 on the ProMille label. Shortly thereafter, the label broke up, so that Omik K. had to self-publish his second album Lagrima in 2011. After a subsequent artistic break, his third solo album Sangre Mala was finally released in early 2014 . In the same year he worked with rappers Bonez MC and Gzuz ( 187 Strassenbande ) on their album High & Hungrig . He also recorded with Der Plusmacher Königsmische for his album Fsw // Free Black Market Economy . The album Karma , which followed in 2016, reached the German charts for the first time and was at number 55.
The rapper has been with the record company Auf! Neine! Fall! Since March 2nd, 2017 . under contract.
