Brostep

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In brostep is a scene concept with which the more commercial and aggressive variant of Dubstep is called. While the essential characteristic of traditional dubstep lies in the emphasis on the sub-bass and the production method of the dub , Brostep is primarily characterized by its focus on the mid-range frequencies, mostly without the dubstep typical dub character. The music is heavier than conventional dubstep.

The English DJ Rusko is considered to be the originator of this direction, he invented the Brostep genre with the track "Cockney Thug". He himself thinks that Brostep has gone too far and that he no longer likes the style of music. With the increasing popularity of dubstep in the USA, the style, often referred to as “mid-range cack” in Great Britain, was imported and was given the contemptuous term brostep. He was better known through Skrillex , who mixes brostep with electro , house and rock .

Producers who, in addition to Rusko and Skrillex, are partly assigned to the Brostep genre, include: a. Excision , Kill the Noise , Flux Pavilion and Doctor P .
