The Lie of Freedom was D-Bo's first album after his time with the hip-hop label ersguterjunge . It was released for free in MP3 format on D-Bo's Wolfpack entertainment website on June 20th (one day after the CD was released). The download was limited to several weeks.

The skits tell a story. Other people who are not featured as features can also be heard in the skits. In some songs the rappers Bass Sultan Hengzt and Curse are mentioned negatively.

D-Bo took over the productions on the album except for a few songs. In addition to him, Raf Camora, Beatlefield, OCBeats, Microphono and Max Mostley were also involved in the production. The skits are all from Raf Camora and D-Bo.

Charts

D-Bo entered the German charts at number 89 with his album on July 6, 2009 . Then the album got out of the top 100 again.
