A touch of poison is a mixtape by the German rapper Bizzy Montana . It was released on April 21, 2011 via D-Bos record label Wolfpack Entertainment .

History of origin

In July 2009, Bizzy Montana published Mukke from lower class 3, the conclusion of Mukke from the lower class trilogy. He then published numerous freetracks. He was also represented with two titles on the sampler Hip-Hop Lives Vol. 1 , which was published in February 2011 and was organized by Bizzy Montana's manager Hadi El Dor.

At the end of 2010 he started working on new solo projects. The rapper originally planned to release his first solo album after the three street tapes. But this plan was changed so that A Touch of Poison appeared as a mixtape first. The reason given by Montana was that he was still too busy and undecided . In addition, the unresolved label question and financial problems were further reasons for the release of a mixtape. The long abstinence also contributed to the fact that A Touch of Poison developed into a mixtape.

In an interview with Falk Schacht from Mixery Raw Deluxe , he announced in December 2010 that his label situation was unclear and that he was not specifically working on a release. However, he spoke of an option to release another album on Bushido's label ersguterjunge . Shortly after Chakuza's departure from ersguterjunge, there were increased rumors about the departure of ersguterjunge, which Montana confirmed in an interview in early March.

In late February, Bizzy Montana announced the first information about A Touch of Poison . At the same time, two teasers from a video shoot appeared, in which one could see a previously unpublished beat and some video scenes. The full video visualizing the track Blank Sheet was released on April 8th. In April, two short announcements were made by rappers Chakuza and Marc Reis, in which they talked about A Touch of Poison . On April 21st, the second video for Zieh zieh mit Vega was published.

Guest Posts

On A Touch of Poison , seven titles contain guest contributions (so-called features ) by a total of ten artists. The song Cash, Money with Chakuza , with which Bizzy Montana released the collaboration album Blackout in 2006, was recorded. Another guest post is on the title Komma kla , where David Asphalt took over a verse. Also what's up with you? contains a featuring. This track also features Silla , with whom Bizzy Montana already recorded a song for his album Silla Instinct . The contact was made through the music producer Abaz . Nightlife includes guest contributions by the Baden-Württemberg rappers Son Saifa and Midy Kosov. The title Zieh zieh came about from a collaboration between Bizzy Montana and Vega . Ex- Optik-Records- Rapper Amar and DJ Access from Dresden are featured on Gewitter . He is also supported by Caney Knockout, who appears as Montana's back-up rapper, and X-Treme on Ich will ... (The Secret) .

production

A touch of poison as most of the previous albums by Bizzy Montana produced . The rapper showed himself for the productions of Intro , BoOom , Cash, Money , Leeres Blatt , Komma kla , Wos Party , Drauf , What's up with you? , Nightlife , Rap is ..... , Pull up , Just one .... , Signs , thunderstorms , rubble and ashes , Whatever and I want ... (The Secret) in charge. Two more beats were contributed by the producer duo Beatlefield , which consists of rapper Chakuza and DJ Stickle . These productions can be assigned to the titles Ende Terrain and Tailwind . The background music for Outro was made by the hitherto rather unknown music producer Jenzey .

illustration

The album cover was photographed from a bird's eye view and shows Bizzy Montana as the protagonist . He writes texts on his left arm with his right hand. The representation is similar to the injection of heroin . Bizzy Montana wears a white T-shirt , a gray hat , jeans trousers and brown shoes . A leather jacket hangs over his right shoulder and he has a belt in his mouth . A toilet can be seen in the background , which can be recognized by the tiles , the toilet bowl and the toilet roll . There are also individual items such as a microphone , newspaper or beer can around Bizzy Montana . The black lettering Bizzy Montana is in the center of the cover . In addition, are frequency lines displayed. Among them, in cursive the writing A touch of poison represented.

Another photo of Bizzy Montana is shown in the booklet . He lies on his back on a wooden bench and has his right hand on his forehead. In his left hand he is holding a bottle of the American whiskey Jim Beam . On the back of the booklet, Bizzy Montana is sitting on the floor of a toilet, a scene similar to that on the cover is shown. Again he writes texts on his left forearm with a ballpoint pen and is surrounded by empty alcohol bottles and headphones.

The complete artwork was designed for hellesdesign by the Mannheim graphic artist Robin Heller .

style

Bizzy Montana performs his lyrics as rhythmic chants over typical hip-hop beats. These were mostly produced technically using a synthesizer . Bizzy Montana played a guitar in a few songs . Otherwise no live instruments were used for financial reasons .

In terms of lyrics, however, in contrast to previous publications by the rapper, there are only a few melancholy tracks on the CD, but more songs have been recorded that can be assigned to battle rap . Montana justified this with the fact that a lot had changed during the creation of A Touch of Poison and he always stood in his own way.
