Cologne District Court

The Cologne District Court is responsible for the independent city of Cologne and has its seat in Cologne. Around 995,000 people live in the 405 km² judicial district . The District Court of Cologne is thus the second largest German district court after the District Court of Munich , since in the two larger cities of Berlin and Hamburg the district court jurisdiction is divided between several courts.

Henning Banke is the president of the local court.

The Cologne Court of Justice carries out proceedings under the Transsexual Act for the entire Cologne Higher Regional Court .

Premises

The majority is located with the public prosecutor's office and regional court in the Cologne Justice Center on Luxemburger Strasse in Cologne-Sülz . Other parts (land registry, commercial register, probate court, depository department, church exit office, foreclosure court and court treasury) are housed together with the Cologne Higher Regional Court in the Reichenspergerplatz judicial building in Cologne-Neustadt-Nord .
