Marco Angelini (born July 26, 1984 in Voitsberg , Styria ) is an Austrian singer and songwriter . From September 2014 to June 2018 he withdrew into private life. Since July 2018 he has been back on stage under the pseudonym Da Bua .

family

Marco Angelini was born to an Austrian mother and a Luxembourgish father as well as the grandson of Italian grandparents and currently lives near Wels . He has been in a relationship with professional dancer Maria Santner since 2014 .

Education and career

School / university

After graduating from high school , Marco Angelini studied human medicine at the Medical University of Graz . He completed a semester abroad in Luxembourg and the practical year at the Passau Clinic in Germany . In 2012 he graduated with the academic degree Dr. med. univ. (doctor of general medicine). Since the end of 2014 he has been working as an assistant doctor in surgery, initially at the LKH Voitsberg, and since the beginning of 2016 at the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic . In October 2019 he passed the specialist examination to become a specialist in visceral surgery

Sports

For more than twelve years Marco Angelini played actively handball at HSG Bärnbach / Köflach on the left wing position. After two serious injuries (including a torn cruciate ligament) he had to give up his handball career.

Music and television

Marco Angelini has participated in various casting shows, including Heroes of Tomorrow , Starmania , X Factor and Heart of Austria . Through his participation in Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2011 in the 8th season he became known to a wide audience in Europe before he was eliminated with 4th place.

After DSDS, there followed appearances both as a solo artist and with his student band Black Balloon, founded in 2008, in Germany, Greece, Austria, Luxembourg and Spain, as well as several jury assignments, autograph sessions and fan meetings in various countries.

His musical range extends from pop, rock and Austropop to pop hits. According to their own information, musical influences can be found in the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Kings of Leon , Paolo Nutini and James Morrison .

In 2011 Angelini signed a record deal with Sony Music Austria. This resulted in his first single Leuchtturm , which was produced by Alexander Kahr. The single did not reach a chart position. After switching to 2DayRecords, the maxi CD Du & Ich was released on January 25, 2013 . You & I entered the Austrian charts at number 69. The second single Mein Engel (here on earth) released with 2DayRecords reached number 84 in the German charts. It was released on May 31, 2013. On October 4, 2013, the third single Wunder there was released again and again and entered the German charts at number 62.

In January 2014, I participated in the German reality show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! at RTL, where he took sixth place. He then released the party song Tonight on February 7, 2014 , which entered the German charts at position 54.

Also in 2014 he danced with Maria Santner in the ninth season of the dance show Dancing Stars on ORF eins and reached second place.

At the end of July 2014 Angelini announced the temporary end of his singing career in the form of an indefinite break in order to work as a doctor in the near future and to concentrate on his private life. The last appearance before starting his career as an assistant doctor in surgery took place on September 13, 2014 in Zeitz (Germany).

Nevertheless, in November 2014, together with Leo Aberer, he published the Christmas song Goodbye , written by the two artists themselves , which entered the Austrian charts at number 23 and reached number nine. They performed with the title on December 24, 2014 as part of the donation broadcast by Licht ins Dunkel on ORF 2 .

This was followed by appearances at longer intervals, such as B. 2015 at Das Supertalent , at the Steirafest 2016 and 2017, at various regional balls and again and again on ORF .

In 2017 he started the project “Fishboy feat. DJ El Fis ”with the Mallorca party song“ Who the fuck is Haifisch ...? !! ”, which was published on youtube and is not available for download.

In the summer of 2018, Marco Angelini returned to the stage under the name “Da Bua” with the party song “Bierzeltbraut”. The video for the song was produced in June 2018 with the participation of the dancing stars Maria Santner and Roswitha Wieland .

For many years Marco Angelini has been committed to people with special needs and voluntarily looks after the athletes of the Special Olympics Austria, initially as a trainer in floor hockey and handball and since 2011 as an assistant to the team doctor.

He is also actively involved in the development of children's and youth sports programs.

He has also been a Special Olympics ambassador since 2017.
