Roswitha Wieland (born June 5, 1983 ) is an Austrian dancer . She was Austrian national champion several times in the Latin American dances of the amateurs and in 2011 became Vice State Champion in the Latin American dances (Professional Division). Through her participation in the series Dancing Stars , she became known to a wide audience.

Education and career

Roswitha Wieland started taking ballet lessons at the age of four . She also did figure skating and jazz dancing . At the age of 12 she switched to tournament dance. She attended the Parhamerplatz sports high school in Vienna, where she graduated in 2001 with excellent results. During her school days, she spent a year in London for dance training . After graduating from high school, she studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and graduated in international business administration in 2005. During her school and university days, she danced annually at the World and European Championships.

She stayed in South Korea and Hong Kong for a long time until she moved to Oulu , Finland in 2009 . There she came with her Finnish dance partner to 22nd place in the world rankings. In 2010 he switched to the professional warehouse. She went to the United States and managed the Arthur Murray dance school on 5th Avenue in New York City . In autumn 2010 she was hired for Turkish television to dance the first season of Dancing Stars. Her dance partner there was the journalist Güneri Civaouglu . Shortly after the Turkish TV show, she danced the 6th season of Dancing Stars on Austrian television with the singer James Cottriall . Roswitha Wieland achieved second place with Frenkie Schinkels in the 7th season of Dancing Stars. With Gerald Pichowetz she came in the eighth season 2013 in ninth place. With Daniel Serafin , she came in eighth in the ninth season of 2014. In 2016 Wieland danced with ex-ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern and came in second in the final. In the eleventh season 2017 she danced with Otto Retzer , in the twelfth season running from March 15, 2019, she danced with Stefan Petzner and reached fourth place.

Roswitha Wieland has been dancing with the Austrian professional dancer Wolfgang Raab since 2011 .

Roswitha Wieland works as a dance teacher in Vienna.
