Daniel Siegert (born February 11, 1991 in Amberg ) is a German singer and songwriter.
Life
Siegert grew up in Hahnbach and has two older siblings. In 2010 he graduated from the Max Reger Gymnasium in the neighboring town of Amberg .
In 2003 he took part in the casting show Star Search on Sat.1 in the category “Music Act from 10 to 15 years” and was able to prevail until the final, where he sang against the opponent Senta-Sofia Delliponti . He also won this duel and became the first Star Search winner in this category.
As a member of "Star Search - The Kids" he reached number five in the German charts on September 7, 2003 with the single Smile . The successor single Mother , recorded together with Senta-Sofia, who lost in the final , could not continue this success. On the TV Allstars Christmas album he sang Silent Night (English version of the song Silent Night, Holy Night ). Both the single Do They Know It's Christmas and the album The Christmas Album with the solo song Silent Night were awarded gold.
He made numerous appearances on German television, including on Do you understand Spass? , Only love counts , as well as various shows on VIVA , Sat.1 and ProSieben .
On September 8, 2003 he made his debut with his single Let the Sunshine (In My Magic World) and released the album Lucky Star on April 5, 2004 the following year . However, both releases could not build on the success of the joint Star Search - The Kids albums.
From 2008 he was the front man and guitarist of the acoustic formation New Year's Launch until 2014. The group of four has since released songs ( Through with You , Take Her Hand ) and played over 150 shows in six years. In February 2013 he started another project together with the music producer Markus Salmen. Under the name SYON. the two released their first EP in winter 2013/2014.
In 2014 he won the Radio Energy Newcomer 2014 Prize and thus also appeared with Hurts, John Newman, Alvaro Soler and Namika on the 2015 NRJ Music Tour.
2018 published Siegert under the stage name "Daniel Francis" his first single as an adult high .
