Star Search

In 2003 Oliver, who was also called OJ at the time, sang for the Star Search jury and was invited to the show. The jury, consisting of Jeanette Biedermann , Hugo Egon Balder and others, consistently received the highest number of points for his performances and he was elected one round by the audience by televoting week after week. In the duel of the round of 16, he prevailed against Bill Kaulitz , who later became Tokio-Hotel front man, before the then 10-year-old was eliminated in the semifinals against eventual winner Daniel Siegert.

DJ Tomekk

At the invitation of Sat.1, Oliver made his first single with the Berlin rapper and DJ Tomekk after the show. This was released on May 17, 2004 with the name Party under DJ Tomekk presents Lil'O . It was a mediocre hit, reaching number 45 on the charts, but was rarely played on music channels.

Smile and Friends

Shortly after Daniel's victory, the last four candidates, who in addition to Oliver and Daniel also included Senta-Sofia and Jenniffer , first released the single Smile and later the album Friends , both of which were successful. Oliver's contributions to this CD were My Name Is OJ , Inside Out as a reinforcement for Jenniffer, Friends with Jenniffer and the Snow Cover Informer .

In 2005, the four candidates brought out another single called Mother , which was a homage to all mothers in keeping with Mother's Day. It wasn't as successful as the previous single.

The TV Allstars

At Christmas 2003 a group of diverse casting acts joined forces for the TV Allstars project . The project supported the SOS Children's Villages with their record sales. Again, Lil'O was involved in the work. In the very popular video for Do They Know It's Christmas? he could be seen and also had his own rap art, which was only heard in the clip and not on the single or the album The Ultimate Christmas Album . For this he, like everyone involved, had his own song on the album. It was called Christmas Rappin ' and is originally from Kurtis Blow.
