For you the third is studio album of the German pop schlager - singer Vanessa May .

Creation and artwork

All pieces on the album were written by Dieter Bohlen, largely in collaboration with Oliver Lukas. Exceptions are three songs that were written by Bohlen alone. The piece Für dich was written by Bohlen together with Lukas Hilbert and Klaus Hirschburger for Yvonne Catterfeld , who published it in 2003. All titles were produced by Bohlen. All songs were mixed and programmed in the Jeopark Studios in Hamburg under the direction of Joachim Mezei. Mezei Bohlen also stood by as a co-producer. All pieces are sung by Vanessa Mai, with support from Billy King, Christoph Leis-Bendorff, Johannes Leis-Bendorff, Christoph Papendieck and Natalie Pütz in the background . The instrumentalists were Stefan Köhne, Joachim Mezei, Christoph Papendieck and Anders Wigelius on bass, keyboard and drums, and Adriano Pratesi and Peter Weihe on guitar. The album was released under the music label Ariola and distributed by Arabella and Blue Obsession Verlag.

On the cover of the album - next to the artist name and album title - the face of Mai can be seen. Inside the CD is a 24-page booklet with lyrics and pictures of Mais. The cover picture and the pictures in the booklet are by Sandra Ludewig, the design by Roland Reinsberg.

Für Dich was first published on April 15, 2016 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The album consists of 14 new studio recordings. In addition to the regular album release, a limited double CD and a limited box were released at the same time. The double album includes a bonus CD with a "Megamix" and a remix . The box set includes the limited double album, the regular album as vinyl record , a key ring , an “Early Entry Pass” for the Für Dich Tour , five pictures from May in vinyl format, an A1 poster and three badges . On October 22nd, 2016, a “Gift Edition” was published with the title Für Dich again . This includes the regular album including the remixes and a DVD. The DVD contains the MDR documentary Vanessa Mai - My Heart Beats Schlager , the music videos for I die for you and Meilenweit , as well as the making-of for Meilenweit .

To apply and the album, followed, among others, live performances in prime time during the festivals of folk music ( Andrea Berg - The congratulatory festival in 2016 , hit Boom , The big hit hard ) in the first , when Starnacht am Wörthersee in Hello Again the Swiss Radio and Television and the hits of 2016 . Furthermore, followed by appearances in the ZDF television garden in on ZDF TV Garden Tour and every Sunday . Vanessa Mai - My heart beats Schlager

Three months after the publication of Für Dich , Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk devoted a 45-minute TV special to May. A camera team followed Mai for around three months from the award of the ECHO Pop (April 7, 2016) to the release of the second single Meilenweit (July 15, 2016). Interview excerpts can be seen in which Mai talks about her childhood, the beginning with Wolkenfrei and the current situation. Furthermore, the documentation shows Auckenblicke Mai before and after winning the ECHO in the artist category (hits / folk music) . You can see excerpts from the “Das Beste der Feste” tour 2016 , which May took part with various pop musicians, with an interview by Florian Silbereisen . Towards the end, the documentary is devoted in detail to the music video shoot for Meilenweit .

In For You is the first album of May that she published under her own name. She released her first album Endlos in love with the band Wolkenfrei . With the publication of Wachgeküsst , she mostly appeared solo as "Cloud-free star Vanessa". The decision to appear under her own name came with her job as a juror in the 13th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . Aside from the music during the DSDS casting, she already appeared under her own name in order to avoid a conflict between her name and Wolkenfrei.

All the lyrics on the album are written in German and, like the compositions, are by Dieter Bohlen, while the lyrics were mostly written by Bohlen in collaboration with Oliver Lukas. The pieces without you , miles wide and I love you were specially written by Bohlen. Musically, the songs move in the field of pop hits . All the pieces are new compositions, only the songs I die for you and For you are cover versions. For you is an exact copy of Yvonne Catterfeld's number one hit from 2003. The original was also by Bohlen and was written in collaboration with Lukas Hilbert and Klaus Hirschburger . When I'll die for you is it is a German-language cover version of the original And When I Die by Touché . The compositions and the text of the original also came from Bohlen, but under the pseudonym "Joseph Cooley".

The limited double album includes a second CD on which a 22-minute “Megamix” and a remix for Ich derb für dich can be found. The remix comes from Roman Lüth. The "Gift Edition" includes an additional CD with six remixes from Bassflow and Stereoact, among others, and an additional DVD. The DVD contains music videos for the singles Ich derb für dich and Meilenweit , a making-of for Meilenweit and the TV special for My Heart Beats Schlager .

Two months before the album was released, the single Ich derb für dich was released on February 19, 2016 . The second single, Meilenweit, followed on July 15, 2016 . The third and so far last single, Ohne dich , was released on October 8, 2016. A real music video was released for each of the first two single releases , while only a live version was released for Ohne dich . As with Cloud 7 , Oliver Sommer directed I will die for you and miles wide .

Of all three singles, only I will die for you could place in the charts. The single reached position 35 in the German single charts and stayed in the charts for a total of five weeks. In Austria the single reached position 48 in four chart weeks and in Switzerland position 67 in two chart weeks.

Tour for you

The Für Dich Tour was the first independent concert series of Mais as the main act, after having already participated in Schlager concert series such as the Das Beste der Feste Tour 2016 or played in the opening act of Fantasy . The tour extended over a period of two months and took Mai with her accompanying band through 21 German cities as well as three times to Denmark and once to Zurich in Switzerland . The set list varied between 23 and 24 tracks during the tour. The program mostly consisted of a mixture of the last two studio albums Wachgeküsst and Für Dich . The concert in the Tempodrom in Berlin on October 10, 2016 was recorded and published as a live and video album under the title Für Dich - Live from Berlin on January 6, 2017.

Charts and chart placements

Für Dich reached position four in the album charts in Germany and stayed in the top 10 for three weeks and 55 weeks in the charts. In Austria the album also reached position four and stayed in the top 10 for four weeks and in the charts for 45 weeks. In Switzerland, the album reached position six and stayed in the top 10 for two weeks and in the charts for 26 weeks. In 2016 the album was placed 46th in the German annual album charts, 47th in Austria and 62nd in Switzerland. Furthermore, after being kissed awake , Mai reached the top of the official top 20 hits in Germany for the second time . The album stayed at the top of the hit charts for a week.

For May, Für Dich is the third chart success in the album charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is already her second top 10 success in Germany and Austria and the first in Switzerland. It is their third album in a row that could be placed in all DA-CH countries at the same time . To date, no album Mais has been able to rank higher in all three countries, and no album has been able to stay in the charts in Switzerland.

Awards for music sales

In November 2016 the album was awarded a gold record in Austria. In May 2017, a platinum record followed in Germany for over 200,000 units sold. Overall, the album was awarded once gold and once platinum for over 207,500 units sold, making it the best-selling sound carrier in corn.
