Cloud 7 is a song by the German hit band Wolkenfrei . The piece is the first single from her second studio album Wachgeküsst .
Creation and artwork
The song was written jointly by Felix Gauder, Oliver Lukas and Oli Nova. The piece was mixed, arranged and produced by Gauder. The single was released under the Ariola music label and distributed through Sony Music Entertainment . The song was recorded at Jojo Music Studios in Stuttgart . On the cover of the digital single, Corn's upper body can be seen against a gray background. The cover picture was shot by the German photographer Tim Dobrovolny and designed by Jan Weskott. On the cover of the Remix EP you can see a screenshot from the accompanying music video, in which Mai floats on an air mattress in the swimming pool.
Publication and promotion
Cloud 7 was first published on May 22, 2015 as a single download. Due to the great popularity, a remix EP entitled Cloud 7 (Remixes) was released on August 14, 2015 . This was also released in physical form as a CD. In addition to the radio version, it contains seven other remix versions and the associated music video for Cloud 7 .
In order to promote the song, there was a live appearance in prime time on the ARD show The Best in Summer by Florian Silbereisen, as well as other appearances in the ZDF TV garden , on Guten Morgen Deutschland and Immer wieder Sonntag .

background information
The appearance in the ARD show The Best in Summer was the very first live appearance during prime time Wolkenfreis or Vanessa Mais. That's why Silbereisen surprised Mai shortly before her performance by inviting her parents and placing them in the front row. Mai believed that her father would have another gig with his band that evening. Since her father is also a musician, he had never made it to a major performance in Mai, it was the first time here.

Music video
The music video for Cloud 7 was shot in Mallorca in mid-June 2015 and celebrated its premiere on July 8, 2015 on YouTube . It begins with May, who, wearing a bikini top, leaves a small villa and joins two women on a deck chair in front of a swimming pool . Then a man can be seen jumping into the pool while the women are watching. In the next scene all four can be seen playing golf together , with a bored Mai achieving a hole-in-one . Then the three women can be seen again at the swimming pool, where they are floating together on the surface of the water. Alternating with this scene, Mai can be seen from a balcony, how she makes the man wet with a watering can and he takes a shower under the water jet. There follows a dance scene of the three women in front of the pool. Towards the end of the video, the three women are sitting at a counter where the man is the bartender . At the end the four dance together in front of the pool. According to RTL , the music video was shot in one day and devoured a budget in the mid five-digit euro range. The total length of the video is 3:58 minutes.

Cloud 7 reached position 54 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of seven weeks. In Austria the single reached position 71 in the charts in one week. Entry into the chart has so far been denied in the Swiss charts . In the German Conservative Pop Airplaycharts , Wolke 7 reached the top position , in the annual charts of this chart evaluation the song was ranked tenth in 2015. With Wolke 7 , Wolkenfrei reached the official single charts for the first time - after five previous singles. To date, no single from Wolkenfrei or Vanessa Mai has stayed longer in the charts.
The piece was also able to position itself at number one in the official German “Party & Schlager Charts” and the “Airplaycharts from Radio VHR”. It was the band's first number one airplay success. The single also placed in the "DJ Top 100 National Charts" at number one.
