For you - Live from Berlin , the second is a live album and video album of the German pop schlager - singer Vanessa May .
Creation and artwork
All tracks on the album were written by external authors. Most of the tracks were written by composers and songwriters Dieter Bohlen , Olaf Roberto Bossi , Felix Gauder and Oliver Lukas. All songs were produced by Bohlen or Gauder; Bohlen was supported by the co-producer Joachim Mezei from the Hamburg Jeopark Studio. Gauder was also responsible for the arrangement. The sound mixing took place in the Frechener Tonstudio K, under the direction of Thomas Kern and Alex Spengler. The album was released under the Ariola music label and distributed through Sony Music.
On the cover of the album - next to the artist name and song title - a picture of Mai can be seen during the concert. Inside the album is a 24-page booklet with impressions of the concert and the participants. All images were taken by Sandra Ludewig, the associated artwork by Roland Reinsberg.
The live recordings were made in front of almost 3,000 spectators during Mais Für Dich Tournee , at a concert in the Tempodrom in Berlin on October 10, 2016. Roland Rascher was responsible for the musical direction. Rascher can also be heard on the keyboard. Florian Schanze played the drums.
Publication and promotion
The first publication of For You - Live in Berlin took place on January 6, 2016 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The album is available on CD and download, as well as a video album in Blu-Ray and DVD formats. The album consists of 26 tracks divided on two CDs and includes live versions of songs from all three studio albums Mais. The video album consists of 25 titles and two picture galleries.
One day after the album was released, the first live appearance in prime time followed after the album was released. In the ARD show Schlagerchampions - The great festival of the best by Florian Silbereisen , Mai was awarded the Schlagerpreis Die One of the best in the category Singer of the Year and presented her songs Ich derb für dich and an acoustic version of Ohne dich (I sleep tonight not a) . She sang the latter together with Stefan Zauner from Münchener Freiheit in the ZDF show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel .

All lyrics on the album are written in German. Most of the compositions and lyrics come from Dieter Bohlen, Olaf Roberto Bossi, Felix Gauder and Oliver Lukas. Musically, the songs move in the field of pop hits . Most of the pieces are new compositions, only the songs Für dich , Ohne dich (I'm not going to sleep tonight) , Somehow, somewhere, sometime and I'll die for you are cover versions. For you is an exact copy of Yvonne Catterfeld's number one hit from 2003. Without you (I'm not going to sleep tonight) , the original is a number one success of Munich Freedom from 1985. Somehow, somewhere, sometime is a cover of Nena's top 10 success from 1984. Ich sterb für dich is a German-language cover version of the original And When I Die by Touché . The composition and the text of the original also came from Bohlen, but under the pseudonym "Joseph Cooley". The pieces Irgendwie, somewhere, sometime and Ohne dich (I'm not going to sleep tonight) were played for the first time on the Für Dich tour in May and had previously been released on an album. The Cloud Free Medley is a medley that consists of the songs From Tokyo to America , You are my island , The magic potion is empty and I promise you nothing and give you everything .
In addition to the concert recording, the album contains four remixes . These are the last four songs of the second, which were titled Für Dich Album Mix . In addition to the concert recording, the video album contains two picture galleries with the titles I love you and I can't believe it .

Tour for you
The Für Dich Tour was the first independent concert series of Mais as the main act, after it had already participated in Schlager concert series in advance or played in the opening act of Fantasy . The tour extended over a period of two months and took Mai with her accompanying band through 21 German cities as well as three times to Denmark and once to Zurich in Switzerland . The set list varied between 23 and 24 tracks during the tour. The program mostly consisted of a mixture of the last two studio albums Wachgeküsst and Für Dich .

To date, Für Dich - Live from Berlin has not been able to achieve its own chart placement, which is due to the fact that the album and the video album are too similar to the previous studio album Für Dich and therefore all sales in Germany are added to the predecessor. However, after the release of Für Dich - Live from Berlin , the studio album improved by 82 places in the German album charts and reached the top 10 again after more than six months at position six .
The video album Für Dich - Live from Berlin reached position four in the music DVD charts in Austria in four chart weeks. In Switzerland, the video album also reached position four in the music DVD charts in one week of charts. For May this is already the second top 10 or chart success in the Austrian and Swiss music DVD charts after being kissed awake - Live from the Parktheater Augsburg .
