Creation and artwork
The song was written jointly by Dieter Bohlen and Oliver Lukas. The single was produced by Bohlen. The piece was mixed, instrumentalized (bass, keyboard and drums) and programmed in the Jeopark Studios in Hamburg under the direction of Joachim Mezei. Mezei Bohlen also stood by as a co-producer. The single was released under the music labels Ariola , Music for Millions and Sony Music Entertainment and distributed by Arabella and Blue Obsession publishers. On the cover of the maxi single - in addition to the artist name and song title - Mai's upper body can be seen in a white dress with a beige jacket. The cover picture is by Sandra Ludewig, the design by Roland Reinsberg.
Publication and promotion
The first release of Ich derb für dich took place as a single download on February 19, 2016. Due to its great appeal, a physical maxi single was released on April 29, 2016. In addition to the album version, this includes six other remix versions of Ich derb für dich as B- Side . I die for you reached position 35 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of five weeks. In Austria the single reached position 48 in four chart weeks and in Switzerland position 67 in two chart weeks.
