Johann Christian Gottlieb Schaumann

Johann Christian Gottlieb Schaumann (born February 8, 1768 in Husum ; † January 31, 1821 in Gießen ) was a German philosopher , educator and university professor .

Life

Little is known about Schaumann's early training and career. At first he was a teacher at the Pädagogium Halle . He qualified as a private lecturer in philosophy at the University of Halle . Eventually, he was probably the doctor doctorate . In 1794 he accepted a call as a full professor of philosophy at the University of Giessen . In 1805 he also became a pedagogue in Giessen .
