Jetties on Lake Plauer

As a jetty or pier is called an artificial way or from the shore into the water or a platform where boats can create. Similar structures, where larger ships dock, are jetties and jetties . Jetties and jetties are built over the water, unlike piers and jetties .

In a harbor, especially in a marina , jetties serve to divide the water surface and to create a large number of berths for pleasure craft that are directly connected to the land .

Probably the longest jetty on an inland waterway is the 270 meter long jetty in Altnau on Lake Constance.
