João Batista Nunes de Oliveira , called Nunes , (born May 20, 1954 in Cedro de São João , Sergipe ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Nunes came to the CR Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro at the age of fourteen . After five years, shortly before jumping into the professional squad, the club officials decided against a further commitment of the player. He then moved to smaller clubs in Pernambuco . Here, Santa Cruz celebrated its first successes and again attracted attention. Nunes was able to return to Rio in 1978 and went to Fluminense, the great local rival of his great love Flamengo.

In the same year Nunes took part in the preparation of the Brazilian squad for the 1978 World Cup. Due to an injury he sustained during training, he had to be removed from the squad.

This was followed by a one-season commitment to Italy before Nunes was committed by Flamengo in 1980. The player became part of a successful team that won several national and international titles. Personally, he was even able to secure the top scorer's crown in the Brazilian championship in 1981 . After three successful years, he changed clubs several times. a. to Portugal . In 1987 he wanted to end his career as a professional player at Flamengo, but was signed twice by smaller clubs.
