Betting scandal
On September 23, it became known that the referee Edílson Pereira de Carvalho made match fixing in the course of the competition in the league and the Série B and State Cup of São Paulo . On October 2, the Supreme Sports Justice Tribunal ordered that the results of the eleven premier league games must be annulled and that the games must be played again.
