Brasiliense Futebol Clube de Taguatinga , usually just called Brasiliense for short , is a football club from Taguatinga , in the Brazilian federal district . The club colors are yellow and green and are based on the Brazilian national colors. The team was founded on August 1, 2000 by businessman Luiz Estevão, who bought Atlântida FC and renamed it Brasiliense Futebol Clube. Since then, Brasiliense has established itself as the leading club in the federal district and won six district championships in a row between 2005 and 2009.

The club first in the already 2002 Série C , which promotion to the second league, the Série B enabled. In the same year Brasiliense also advanced into the finals of the Brazilian Cup , but lost to SC Corinthians Paulista there with 1: 2 and 1: 1.

In 2004, the club even made it into the highest Brazilian league, the Series A . In the same year Brasiliense also won the district championship for the first time after reaching the final in the previous year. Brasiliense won the title six times in a row between 2004 and 2009 and took the title again in 2011, 2013 and 2017.

However, the 2005 season in Série A was not quite as successful and Brasiliense rose as bottom of the table for the time being back in Série B. In the 2010 season, the club then rose to the Série C.
