César Augusto da Silva Lemos , called César Maluco (Maluco = the crazy), (born May 17, 1945 in Niterói , RJ ) is a former Brazilian football player .

He started his career in Rio de Janeiro with Flamengo. But he played most of the games for SE Palmeiras from São Paulo . Here he scored 180 goals in seven years in various competitions and was able to win five championship titles with the club. Together with Ademar Pantera , César Maluco was the top scorer at the Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa in 1967.

In 1974 César Maluco was a member of the World Cup team at the World Cup . The team came fourth at this World Cup. At the World Cup, he lived up to his nickname. In the course of the encounter with the Zaire , he changed the direction of travel of the escalator from upwards to downwards, so that the surprised Zaires players sometimes fell.
