The Copa Brasil 1975 was the 19th season of the Brazilian soccer championship .

Season course

The competition started its new season on August 20, 1975 and ended on December 14, 1975. The championship was organized by the national association CBD . At the end of the season, SC Internacional celebrated its first title.

After the season, the sports magazine Placar awarded the Golden Ball to the best player of the year. The award went to Valdir Peres from São Paulo FC . The top scorer was Flávio Minuano from Master Internacional with 16 goals .

The field of participants was increased from 40 participants in the previous year to a total of 42 teams. For the first time teams from Goiás and Paraíba took part in the championship.

In the group stage, wins with a goal difference of more than three goals were counted as three points.

1st round: In the first round, the ten members of group A each played once against the members of group B. Also in groups C and D. Here, however, eleven in a group. The five best teams in each group moved into groups of winners 1 and 2 in the second round. The teams with lower rankings were placed in the groups of losers 3 to 6.

2nd round: In the second round, the ten members of Group 1 each played once against the members of Group 2. The six best teams in each group progressed to the third round.

In the losing groups 3 to 6, the teams represented played against each other once. The respective winner came to the third round.

3rd round: In groups A and B, the teams played against each other in groups of eight with only one game each. The respective group winners and runners-up made it to the semi-finals.

Final round: The semi-finals and the final were each decided in just one game.

Total table: A total table was formed from the results of all games. This is used by the national association to calculate the perpetual best list.
