Edmar Bernardes dos Santos , called Edmar , (born January 20, 1960 in Araxá , Minas Gerais ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Edmar started his career in 1977 in the capital Brasília . He went through various first division clubs without staying with one for long. The player was also able to book foreign assignments in Italy and Japan . His greatest successes were winning the top scorer crown in the Brazilian championship in 1985 and the silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul .

Trivia

Campinas FC was founded in Campinas in 1998 through the initiative of Edmar and his former teammate Careca at Guarani FC . The club existed until January 2010 and then went on to the SC Barueri .
