Éderson Alves Ribeiro Silva (born March 13, 1989 in Pentecoste , Ceará ), called Éderson , is a Brazilian soccer player who currently plays for the Japanese first division club Kashiwa Reysol . He prefers to run as a striker, but he can also play on the wings.

Career

As a youth player, Éderson was a successful scorer at Ceará SC, scoring 70 goals in a year and a half. In Ceará he went through the youth teams of the U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-20 until he left his old club in 2007 and joined the first division Atletico Paranaense as part of a collaboration between the two clubs . After a year in the Paranaenses youth department, he was awarded to his old club in 2008. However, he was unable to gain a foothold there due to injuries, and so the then 19-year-old returned after a few months.

After a year without professional appearances, he was awarded again for the 2010 season and should collect match practice in the Série C. With the ABC Natal he succeeded in his first year promotion to the second division, where he was used eleven times. Also in the following year it was awarded to the club. He played 18 second division games in which he scored four goals.

After the season he returned to Ceará a second time on loan. After he hardly got a chance there again, loaned out to his home club Paranaense again in the summer of 2012 to ABC, where he came to 26 games in the B series , in which he scored twelve goals. After the end of the season he returned to his home club. Paranaense, who had also played in the second division in 2012, but had been able to realize the promotion, kept Éderson in their squad this time. Surprisingly, the team came in third at the end of the year. Éderson not only made his breakthrough in Brazil's top division, but also scored 21 goals in 30 games in his first season in Série A , making him the top scorer by a wide margin.

He was unable to confirm these successes in the new year. He only scored four goals in 20 competitive games. In the summer of 2014 he was loaned to the Arab al-Wasl Club for a year . There he was trained by his compatriot Jorginho . On September 15, he made his debut in the league when he also scored his first goal for his new club. Across all competitions, he scored 15 times in 32 games in 2014/15.

After the loan deal ended, he decided to move to Japan. The first division club Kashiwa Reysol paid a transfer fee of the rumored 10 million reais (approx. 2.5 million euros) and secured the services of the Brazilian attacker. It premiered on July 29, 2015 in a game against Shonan Bellmare . He stayed in Japan until July 2016, when Éderson was loaned to the CR Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro . He stayed with the club until the end of the state championship in Rio de Janeiro in 2017. It seamlessly joined another loan deal to his first professional club, Athletico Paranaense . After the contract expired, Éderson moved to Fortaleza EC in July 2018 .
