Francisco Gervazio Filho , called Bececê , (* in Mossoró , Rio Grande do Norte ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

Bececê was discovered when he performed with a selection from Limoeiro do Norte . His speed and his strong left shot were particularly noticeable. His shot is said to have been kicked so hard that the goalkeepers, who were still playing without gloves at the time, had great difficulty controlling these balls. Because of this strength of the shot, Bececê also kicked a lot of free kicks, in which the opponents shied away from the wall . Bececê had a habit of biting his lower lip at the time of the kick to ensure more strength and focus. Kicking many free kicks, he would often leave the field with his mouth bleeding.

After his discovery, Bececê mainly played at Fortaleza EC from Fortaleza . In 1960 he was the top scorer at Taça Brasil , a predecessor of the Brazilian championship. Because of his achievements, he was poached by Palmeiras São Paulo .
