The Nacional Futebol Clube , also known as Nacional-AM in its homeland , is a Brazilian football club from Manaus in the state of Amazonas .
history
Nacional is one of the oldest clubs in the Amazon region and, with 43 championships, is the record title holder of its state. In the 1970s and 1980s he was represented several times in the Série A of the national championship of Brazil , the last time in the 1985 season, after which was relegated to the lower leagues. In recent years, thanks to the national championships he has won, he has been able to qualify regularly for the Série D, although he has never been able to stay there permanently.
The former home ground of Nacional FC was the Estádio Vivaldo Lima, which was named after one of its first club presidents, who in 1930 became one of the founders and first president of the Nacional Fast Clube , the arch-rival of Nacional FC. Since 2014, the Arena da Amazônia , built for the World Cup on the site of the old stadium, has been the club's new home.
