Talus Taylor

Talus Taylor (born 1933 in San Francisco , † February 19, 2015 in Paris ) was an American children's author and illustrator.

Career

After completing his education as a biology teacher, Taylor lived in Paris. In the 1960s he met the architecture student Annette Tison there. First they became working partners and together they developed the character figure Barbapapa , which was first published in 1970. Over time, the working relationship turned into a love affair, and Tison became Taylor's wife. Barbapapa has been translated into 30 languages ​​worldwide and made into an animated series. After the success, the couple avoided the public and lived very secluded. Both were considered to be extremely public shy.
