Annette Tison

Annette Tison (born in Hossegor in 1942 , possibly died in 2009 or 2010 or 2013 ) was a French draftsman and architect .

Life and professional history

Tison was born on the Atlantic coast in the Aquitaine region as the daughter of site manager Henri Tison (1901–1972). After school she went to Paris in 1965 to study at the École Spéciale d'Architecture . She left this in 1968 with a degree in architecture. In Paris she met the American biology teacher Talus Taylor . What was initially a pure work relationship turned into a love affair and both later married. Together they developed the characters and stories related to Barbapapa , the first of which was published in 1970. Barbapapa has been translated into 30 languages ​​worldwide and made into an animated series. After the success, the couple avoided the public and lived very secluded alternately in San Francisco and Paris , where Talus Taylor died in 2015.
