The Estadio Ciudad de Lanús - Néstor Díaz Pérez is a football stadium in the Argentine city of Lanús . It has space for 47,027 spectators and is the home ground of the CA Lanús football club .
history
The Estadio Ciudad de Lanús - Néstor Díaz Pérez, also known by its unofficial name La Fortaleza , was built a few years before 1929. On February 24, 1929, the opening followed with the game of CA Lanús against CA Boca Juniors , which ended 2-0 for the guest from the poor La Boca district in Buenos Aires . At that time it was still on the site of what is now a crossing. The Estadio Ciudad de Lanús was demolished in 2003. A new one was built near the old stadium and was given the same name as the old one. The intersection where the old stadium was built bears the name of one of the best CA Lanús footballers, the 37-time Argentine national player Juan Héctor Guidi (1930–1973), who spent almost his entire career with CA Lanús.
The stadium also offers space for a whole range of other sports and other things. The Estadio Ciudad de Lanús has a boxing sector, endurance sports facilities, numerous rooms for journalists and a school, which is planned to be set up in 2012.
