Juan Héctor Guidi (born July 14, 1930 in Avellaneda , † February 8, 1973 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine football player. The 37-time national player was active for CA Lanús and CA Independiente .

Career

Juan Héctor Guidi was born on July 14, 1930 in Avellaneda , an industrial suburb of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . He came to the club CA Lanús at an early age , where he was included in the first team in 1949 at the age of nineteen, after he had previously kicked at a lower class club called Club Unidos de Piñeiro . The midfielder remained loyal to CA Lanús for most of the rest of his career and made a total of 320 league games for the club, in which he scored ten goals. In the first phase, Juan Héctor Guidi stood for Lanús from 1949 to 1961. In his second season at the club, he was promoted to the Primera División by winning the second division championship . Lanús was able to establish himself there and played first class until 1961. In said season, the club's license was withdrawn and they had to relegate to Primera B again, although they ended up in midfield in the table .

Juan Héctor Guidi then left Lanús and moved to CA Independiente in his native Avellaneda. At Independiente, however, he could not prevail and only made twelve games in the league. Fourth place was achieved in the Primera División. After the end of the 1962 season , Guidi returned to CA Lanús and spent the rest of his sporting career there. From 1963 to 1970 he played for the club for another eight years and completed his 320 games in the league.

Between 1956 and 1961 Juan Héctor Guidi was also used in a total of 37 international matches for the Argentine national soccer team . He did not succeed in doing this. At the Campeonato Sudamericano in Peru in 1957 , he was in the squad of the Argentine selection, which won the South American Championship with 10: 2 points over Brazil . For the soccer world championship in the following year he was not considered by national coach Guillermo Stábile .

Juan Héctor Guidi died in Buenos Aires in 1973 at the age of only 42 . Today, an intersection in front of the Estadio Ciudad de Lanús - Néstor Díaz Pérez bears the name of the club's long-time player.
