Dayro Mauricio Moreno Galindo (short Dayro Moreno ; born September 16, 1985 in El Espinal ) is a Colombian football player on the position of a striker . Since 2019 he has been under contract with the Argentine club Club Atlético Talleres .
Club career
Dayro Moreno began his career with the Colombian club Once Caldas from Manizales . With Once Caldas he was able to win the Colombian championship in 2003 and the Copa Libertadores in 2004 . In January 2007 he was loaned to the Brazilian club Athletico Paranaense , but returned to Colombia after half a year.
After a good 2007 season with Once Caldas, in which he was top scorer, Dayro Moreno was signed in January 2008 by the Romanian club Steaua Bucharest . Moreno could not prevail, however, and at times only played for Steaua's second team. In 2010 he returned to Once Caldas. There he was Colombian champion and top scorer for the second time.
In June 2011, Moreno tried again to move abroad and goes to Mexico for Club Tijuana . However, he stayed in Mexico for only six months and then returned to Colombia on loan, first again to Once Caldas, then to Junior in Barranquilla and finally to Millonarios FC in Bogotá , where he was top scorer in the Colombian first division twice in a row. In July 2014 he returned to Club Tijuana. There he became a key player and was elected to the team of the semi-series at the end of 2016 and became the top scorer in the Liga MX .
Moreno returned to Colombia for the 2017 season and signed with Atlético Nacional. Moreno was the top scorer in the first half of the series and reached the Colombian championship with Nacional. Despite a statistically very successful time at Atlético Nacional, in which he scored 44 goals in 68 league games and was twice top scorer in the Colombian league, the club dismissed Moreno in October 2018 for behavior that was harmful to the club.
Moreno has been playing for the Argentine club Club Atlético Talleres since January 2019 .
National team career
Dayro Moreno played for the U-20 national team of Colombia and won the U-20 South American Football Championship with her in 2005 .
