Paulo César Fonseca do Nascimento , called Tinga , (born January 13, 1978 in Porto Alegre ) is a former Brazilian football player .
Career
General
His nickname “Tinga” refers to the name of the “Restinga” area in Porto Alegre where he grew up. He is 1.70 m tall and weighs 65 kg. He is considered to be a versatile midfielder who always exudes a goal threat. According to the sports magazine kicker , Tinga is “always playable, ball and pass safe as well as running and fighting strong”, which led to the nickname the animal in the Borussia Dortmund fan scene . He said of himself: “When things go well, I'm not the best. And if there are difficulties, not the worst. "

On August 16, 2006, Tinga and his club SC Internacional won the 2006 Copa Libertadores with a 2-2 in the second leg (after a 2-1 away win in the first leg) against São Paulo . In February 2014, Tinga was discriminated against in a group match at the Copa Libertadores against Real Garcilaso . The fans of Real imitated monkey sounds every time he touched the ball. The Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff published a criticism on this on Twitter. You and Joseph Blatter classified the process as racism . The Peruvian President Ollanta Humala apologized for this on television.
