Jorge Seré , full name Jorge Fernando Seré Dulcini (born July 9, 1961 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player and coach.

Player career

The 1.81-meter-tall goalkeeper Seré was part of the squad of the Montevideo-based club Danubio from 1981 to 1987 . He then moved to the league competitor Nacional , for whom he played until Apertura 1995. With the Bolsos he won the Copa Libertadores in 1988 , where he was on the starting line-up in both final games against the Newell's Old Boys . In the subsequent World Cup final on December 11, 1988 in Tokyo against PSV Eindhoven, he was also involved from the start. After he was on the field at the kick-off on January 31 and February 6, 1989 in the finals for the Recopa Sudamericana 1989 and thus actively contributed to the title win in the duel with the Argentine representative Racing Club , he was also in the finals the Copa Interamericana was used from the start in 1989 . Nacional prevailed against CD Olimpia there in March 1989 . He later participated in winning the Uruguayan championship title in 1992. After his time at Nacional, a stopover in Brazil at Coritiba followed in 1995 . From Apertura 1996 to Clausura 1997 he was under contract with Liverpool Montevideo . The seasons 1998 and 1999 he then played in the Primera División for the Rampla Juniors . At the end of his career, he was again active for Liverpool Montevideo in 2000.

National team

Seré was also a member of the Uruguayan senior team . He completed at least one international match when he ran up on August 7, 1988 in the game against the Colombian selection in the Copa Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada . In 1987 he was with the national team South American champion at the Copa América in Argentina. He was also a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1989 Copa America , which Uruguay finished in second place. However, he was not used in both tournaments.

Coaching career

Seré coached the Bella Vista women's futsal team since at least December 2011 . Since at least October 2015 he has been the national coach of the Uruguayan women's futsal team and supervised them at the Copa America 2015. There, the Uruguayan team became vice-South American champions after a 2-4 final defeat by Colombia. In 2016 he was the coach of the women's futsal team at Nacional Montevideo .
