Raimundo Ferreira Ramos Júnior , called Júnior Baiano (born March 14, 1970 in Feira de Santana ), is a former Brazilian soccer player who was active at Werder Bremen and in the Brazilian national team .
In 2001, he was banned for four months for a drug test positive for cocaine .
Player career
society
The central defender began his career in 1989 at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and came to Werder Bremen via São Paulo in 1995, for which he played 32 Bundesliga games and scored two goals. After a record suspension of ten weeks because of a punch in the first round of the DFB Cup against Niko Kovač from Leverkusen , he moved back to Flamengo in 1996 and played there for two years.
His next stop was SE Palmeiras , then he played for CR Vasco da Gama , Shanghai Shenhua in China , SC Internacional and again for Flamengo before he announced his retirement in 2005. But in 2006 he again signed a professional contract with the Brazilian second division team América FC from Rio de Janeiro . In 2007 he finally moved to Brasiliense FC, for whom he played until 2008. He then moved to Volta Redonda FC for a brief stint .
Since the 2009 season he played for Miami FC .
National team
For the Brazilian national team, Júnior Baiano completed 25 games and scored two goals. In the final of the 1998 World Cup in France , the defender was in the Brazilian starting line-up and played through to the end of the game. In 1997 he was able to win the Confederations Cup .
