The Copa do Brasil 1990 was the second edition of this national soccer cup competition in Brazil. The Copa was hosted by the Brazilian Sports Federation, the CBF . The cup winner was qualified as a participant in the 1991 Copa Libertadores .
Season course
The competition started on June 19, 1990 in its season and ended on November 7, 1990. At the end of the season, the Flamengo Rio de Janeiro became the second title holder. The top scorer was Bizu from Náutico Capibaribe with 7 goals .
Supreme victory
- Atlético Mineiro - Vila Nova FC : 5-0 (June 27, 1990 - second leg, first round)
At the first round match between Atlético Rio Negro Clube (AM) and AC Juventus on July 27, 1990, only 91 spectators came. This was the lowest attendance of the season. A total of 6,281 spectators per game came on average.

32 clubs took part. The mode consisted of a knockout system . Participants were the winners of the 1989 state championships and, in some cases, their runner-up.
In contrast to the previous season, the runner-up from Ceará no longer took part. The state master of Acre took part in this.
