The 1992 Copa do Brasil was the fourth edition of this national soccer cup competition in Brazil. The Copa was hosted by the Brazilian Sports Federation, the CBF . The cup winner qualified as a participant in the 1993 Copa Libertadores . The loser in the final qualified for the Copa Conmebol 1993 .
Season course
The competition started on July 7, 1992 in its season and ended on December 13, 1992. At the end of the season, SC Internacional became the fourth title holder. The top scorer for the third time after 1989 and 1991 was Gérson da Silva with 9 goals, but no longer playing for Atlético Mineiro , but for the cup winner SC Internacional.

32 clubs took part. The mode consisted of a knockout system . Participants were the winners of the 1991 state championships and some of them were runner-up.
The runners-up from Bahia and Goiás no longer took part in the competition. The master from Rio de Janeiro Flamengo decided not to participate in order to concentrate on other competitions, as did the third-placed Botafogo. For the first time in the competition were the champions of Amapá and Rondônia.

After the first and second leg, only the number of wins counted. If this did not result in a winner, the goal difference counted.
