The state championship of Mato Grosso do Sul is the football championship of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (Portuguese: Campeonato Sul-Mato-Grossense de Futebol ) in Brazil . It has been organized by the Football Federation of the Federação de Futebol de Mato Grosso do Sul (FFMS) since 1979 and is held annually throughout.
The record champion is the Operário Futebol Clube from the state capital Campo Grande with 11 titles, followed by local rivals Esporte Clube Comercial with 9 titles. Both clubs had already won the Mato Grosso state championship five times in the years before 1979 .
