Mount Dixey is a 1250 m high mountain on the Rymill coast of the Antarctic Palmerland . It rises on the south side of the Riley Glacier about 5 km northwest of Carse Point .
It was first photographed by the US polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth during an overflight on November 23, 1935. These aerial photos served as a template for mapping by the US geographer WLG Joerg . The first survey was carried out by the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . In 1954, participants of this research trip named the glacier after Neville Dixey (1881–1947), chairman of Lloyd's of London , who financially participated in Rymill's expedition through a foundation.
