Maranhão National Championship
The Maranhão State Championship is the football championship of the Maranhão State (Portuguese: Campeonato Maranhense de Futebol ) in Brazil . It has been held annually since 1918 - with the exception of 1929, 1931 and 1936 - and organized by the Federação Maranhense de Futebol (FMF) national football association.
The record champion is the Sampaio Corrêa Futebol Clube from the state capital São Luís with 33 titles.
