Campo Grande (German Large Field , officially Portuguese Município de Campo Grande ) is the capital of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul . The population was estimated on July 1, 2019 at 895,982 inhabitants, who live in a large community area of ​​around 8093 km² and are called Campo-Grandenser.

It is located in the Serra de Maracaju at the intersection of the two trunk roads BR 163 ( Dourados - Santarém ) and BR 262 ( Três Lagoas - Corumbá ).
