Tacuru , officially Portuguese Município de Tacuru , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul . The indigenous language Guarini is the official language in the city .
The population was estimated as of July 1, 2019 at 11,552 inhabitants, who live on a community area of around 1785.3 km² and are called Tacuruenses ( tacuruenses ). The parish ranks 53rd out of 79 municipalities in the state.

The city is 427 km from the capital of the state ( Campo Grande ) and 1,442 km from the state capital ( Brasília ). The city is bordered by Coronel Sapucaia , Paranhos , Sete Quedas , Japorã , Iguatemi, and Amambai .
Waters
The city is under the influence of the Rio Paraná , which is part of the river system of the Río de la Plata .
