Coronel Sapucaia , officially Município de Coronel Sapucaia , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the south-west mesoregion in the Iguatemi microregion .
history
origin of the name
Coronel Sapucaia is the third name of the community and commemorates an important officer of the same name. The Coronel was born on October 30, 1918 in the city of Canoinhas and studied at the Military College of Rio de Janeiro . He served large parts of his active career in Ponta Porã and tried to support the population and Mato Grosso do Sul. He died on January 15, 1963.

The city is 420 km from the capital of the state ( Campo Grande ) and 1554 km from the state capital ( Brasília ). The city borders on the neighboring cities of Capitán Bado ( Paraguay ), Ivinhema , Aral Moreira and Paranhos .
