Mundo Novo , officially Município de Mundo Novo , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the south-west mesoregion in the Iguatemi microregion .

The city is 473 km from the capital of the state ( Campo Grande ) and 1408 km from the state capital ( Brasília ). The city borders on Japorã , Eldorado , Guaíra and Salto del Guairá ( Paraguay ).
Waters
The city is under the influence of the Rio Paraná and the Rio Iguatemi (right tributary of the Rio Paraná), which belong to the river system of the Río de la Plata .
