Guia Lopes da Laguna , officially Município de Guia Lopes da Laguna , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the south-west mesoregion in the Bodoquena microregion . It is on the edge of the Serra da Bodoquena National Park .

Surname
The city's name pays homage to Guia Lopes , a local hero of the Triple Alliance War .

The city is 228 from the state capital ( Campo Grande ) and 1253 km from the state capital ( Brasília ).

Together with Bonito , Jardim, Bodoquena and the Serra da Bodoquena National Park, the city lies in a region with high tourist potential. For many visitors, the historical scenes of the Triple Alliance War are also worth seeing. The Ponte Velha (old bridge) from the Vargas era is also worth seeing .
