Aral Moreira , officially Município de Aral Moreira , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the south-west mesoregion in the Dourados microregion .

history

origin of the name

The name is a posthumous homage to the MP Aral Moreira.

geography

location

The city is located 367 km from the capital of the state ( Campo Grande ) and 1382 km from the state capital ( Brasília ). It is on the border with Paraguay .

climate

The city has a humid tropical mountain climate. In winter the temperature can drop to zero, in summer 40 degrees can be exceeded. The humidity is between 40 and 60%. The dry season is between May 15th and August 15th, the rainy season is from September to April.

Waters

The city is under the influence of the Río Paraguay and the Rio Paraná , which belong to the river system of the Río de la Plata .

The area is part of the Cerrados (savannah of central Brazil).
