Ladário , officially Portuguese Município de Ladário , is an enclave in the city of Corumbá in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul . As of July 1, 2019, the municipality had an estimated 23,331 inhabitants, called Ladarens ( Ladarensea ) , who live on a municipality area of around 354.3 km². The distance to the capital Campo Grande is 421 km. The municipality is part of the Pantanal UNESCO World Heritage Site .
The place was founded in 1778 as a military camp and was named Vila de Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Albuquerque . In 1873 there was a further expansion on the right bank of the Rio Paraguai . From 1896 to 1953 it was a district of the Corumbá municipality. The municipality received independent city rights in 1954.
