Naviraí , officially Portuguese Município de Naviraí , is a city in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul . According to the 2010 census, it had 46,424 inhabitants on an area of around 3,193.5 km². The number was estimated by the IBGE as of July 1, 2019 at 54,878 inhabitants with a current population density of around 16 people per square kilometer, around 92% of which is spread over urban areas and around 8% in rural areas.

The city is 370 km from the capital of the state ( Campo Grande ) and 1301 km from the state capital ( Brasília ). The city borders on Jateí , Itaquiraí , Iguatemi , Juti , Alto Paraíso , Icaraíma and Querência do Norte .

The city is under the influence of the Río Paraná , which is part of the river system of the Río de la Plata . Further rivers:
- Rio Amambai : right tributary of the Rio Paraná.
- Rio Curupaí : right tributary of the Rio Paraná.
- Rio Ivinhema : right tributary of the Rio Paraná.
- Rio Laranjaí : right tributary of the Rio Ivinhema.
