The Archdiocese of Campo Grande ( lat. : Archidioecesis Campi Grandis , port. : Arquidiocese de Campo Grande ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Campo Grande in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul .

history

The diocese of Campo Grande was on June 15, 1957 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of the diocese of Corumbá and the territorial prelature Registro do Araguaia and subordinated to the archdiocese of Cuiabá as a suffragan . On January 3, 1978, the diocese of Campo Grande gave up parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Três Lagoas and the territorial prelature of Coxim . On November 27, 1978, the diocese of Campo Grande was raised to an archdiocese.
