The Archdiocese of Palmas ( lat. : Archidioecesis palmensis in Brasilia ) is a in Brazil located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Palmas in the state of Tocantins .

history

The Archdiocese of Palmas was established on March 27, 1996 by Pope John Paul II with the Papal Bull Maiori spirituali bono from cedings of the Diocese of Miracema do Tocantins and the Diocese of Porto Nacional .
