Alberto Taveira Corrêa

Alberto Taveira Corrêa (born May 26, 1950 in Nova Lima , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Belém do Pará .

Life

The Archbishop of Belo Horizonte , João Resende Costa SDB , ordained him a priest on August 15, 1973 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Brasília and titular bishop of Sinnipsa on April 24, 1991 . The old archbishop of Belo Horizonte, João Resende Costa SDB, donated him episcopal ordination on July 6th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Serafím Fernandes de Araújo , Archbishop of Belo Horizonte, and Arnaldo Ribeiro , Archbishop of Ribeirão Preto . He chose PRO MUNDI VITA as his motto .

On March 27, 1996 he was appointed the first archbishop of the Archdiocese of Palma , which was established on the same date . He was appointed Archbishop of Belém do Pará on December 30, 2009 and was introduced to office on March 25 of the following year.
